The girls at Janani Home work hard at school and focus well on their studies, but we recognise that physical activity is also vital for their health. Every Sunday the girls will have time to play sports, they have already shown much skill and ability. We are sure that they will progress quickly and adopt such extracurricular activities. We thank Sabari School for facilitating the play materials. Our Founder and Director, Arasu, very much enjoyed spending time with the girls and teaching them how to play football. We look forward to our next opportunity for fun in the sun.

A Warm Welcome to the New Members of our Board of Directors
Two new members have recently been appointed to our board of directors, Ragu and Sally. Ragu is our project manager from Tamil Nadu, and Sally is a volunteer from Great Britain. They will now be involved in the management and decision-making of the organisation, and as a team, they will help Prime Trust to develop and excel. The membership was officially declared at a ceremony of honour, located in the office of Prime Trust. Members from our board of trustees also attended. After some lovely, welcoming speeches, Ragu and Sally were presented with flowers and a shawl of honour.
We are very excited to move forward from this point with our new members, and excitedly await the changes to come.

International Day of the Girl Child
What is the Celebration For?
This year's theme for International Day of the Girl Child is "GirlForce: Unscripted and Unstoppable". What if we replaced "GirlForce" with "Life"? Does this also work? It is important to note that life implies no gender and no gender restrictions. Girls and boys, like life, are "Unscripted and Unstoppable". This chosen theme successfully accentuates the equality of gender which exists, and the strength that both genders possess, which is often ignored or overlooked.

Exams are Finished... Let's Dance!
The girls have regained their energy, and are in high spirits during their holiday week. Some of our generous sponsors brought round a noodle feast for the girls. But before food... a party! The girls were bursting with energy (even hyper in some cases) and brought a smile to everyone's face with their wonderful dancing. Any chance to play their favourite tunes and have a boogie, they will take it.

An Evening of Kind Words, Dance and a Few Tears
Farewell Paula
Her departure was felt by all. However, all of our staff and the girls at Janani Home made sure to throw a wonderful farewell party. The girls worked hard on their goodbye cards, featuring the kindest words and colourful characters. These will no doubt be cherished by Paula forever.
Just when it seemed that the excitement was coming to an end, the girls surprised us with a terrific dance which they had spent much time rehearsing. Their huge smiles and grins were dazzling and extremely contagious. Paula also treated us to a performance of some Spanish dancing. Some of the girls began to imitate the moves, soon stopping though to marvel at Paula, dancing with such attitude and style.
It is extremely difficult to say farewell to someone so amazing, but the party is now a precious memory for all to cherish. This perhaps is not surprising, precious memories are abundant with such a wonderful group of people. There will no doubt be many more stories to share.
The Work of Prime Trust

Who are we?
Located in the city of Pondicherry in Tamil Nadu, Prime Trust focuses on programs that empower local women, enable rural and urban poor to become self-reliant, raise social awareness, and educate underprivileged children.
Our reach has grown every year since our beginnings in 2002 thanks to the collaborations with volunteers and other grassroots NGOs and, most importantly, by putting the power of change in the hands of the people who need it the most.

What are our goals?
Why have we created a blog?
- To allow the public to follow our amazing story as the organisation continues to progress and evolve
- To give the reader an insight of the work involved with an NGO such as Prime Trust
- To help the reader to get to know the amazing people that are supported by Prime Trust, their personalities and the joy that they bring into our lives
