Prime Trust, in association with Jyothi Eye Care Hospital conducts a free Eye Screening Camp

Prime Trust, in association with Jyothi Eye Care Hospital conducts a free Eye Screening Camp The eyes are among the most sensitive organs of the body and are considered to be one of the most important senses. Eye examinations check for the visual function for proximal vision as well as distance vision. On 18.11.2022 Prime Trust along with Jyothi eye care organized a free eye screening camp at the Sishubhavan play school, Muthialpet. Wide publicity was made to the local community about the opportunity. Eye screening was done on children, men and women. For further treatment such as cataract surgery and other ophthalmic issues they were referred to the Jyothi Eye Care Hospital. The medical team informed the community about the central government schemes available to the public. The local community was also informed about the special offers from the hospital extended through this camp. People of different ages were benefitted through the camp. The arrangements were made by Mrs. Mary Slessor - Program Manager, Mrs. Bhavani – Play school teacher and the Bachelors of (Hons) agriculture Interns from the Karunya institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore. About 90 individuals were benefitted through this camp. Her husband Mr. Muruganantham(42 yrs) is a fisherman. Her daughter and son are doing schooling. The income from their fish selling occupation helps them repay the loan. On Saturday, 22nd October 2022, we had Diwali Celebrations at Jananai Home for Girls. The local community, staff members, students for Bachelor’s degree from Idhaya Arts and Science College for Women, Puducherry, and children from Janani Home took an active part. Vel Mobile Dental Clinic was our main sponsor for this event. The children demonstrated their dancing skills and the interns taught good habits to the children through a skit. The Doctors from the VEL Mobile Dental Clinic taught the children about oral hygiene. Self Help Group orientation session for the BCom interns On 19.10.2022 the BCom interns were given an orientation on the various aspects regarding Self Help Groups by Mrs. Gayathri, Secretary of the Akshaya Punnagai Pookal SHG, Muthialpet at the Prime Trust office, Rainbow nagar. A detailed information about the formation of SHG, documents needed, procedure of account opening in bank, records to be maintained, loan receiving procedure, repayment procedure, termination of a member, benefits of being a SHG member etc were given. Account maintenance in master SHG register was explained. It was a very informative session for the interns. Orientation on accounting for the BCom interns by Prime Trust Staff On 13th and 19th of October2022 the BCom interns from the Idhaya college of arts and science for women, Puducherry were given an orientation on accounting by the Prime Trust staff Ms. Uma Maheswari , Accountant and Mrs. Nathali Raja, Secretary . This orientation helped the interns to practically observe and learn the accounting procedures in Prime Trust. Maintaining accounts in excel spread sheet was taught to the interns. The vouchers and receipts maintained were shown for their learning. The files to be maintained for auditing were explained.
