A Day of Discovery, Joy, and Togetherness: A Memorable Trip with Janani Home Children

On 29th June 2025, Prime Trust organized a heartwarming and adventurous one day tour for the children of Janani Home, accompanied by staff members and their families. The journey, which included visits to Gingee Fort, Sathanur Dam, and the temples of Thiruvannamalai, turned into a day filled with joy, laughter, bonding, and unforgettable memories.

By 5 AM, all participants gathered at Janani Home, buzzing with excitement. The children, who had been eagerly waiting for this trip, couldn’t hide their happiness. Their glowing faces and enthusiastic chatter set a beautiful tone for the day. After packing the food and essentials onto the bus, the group embarked on their journey.Midway through the morning, the team took a short break under the welcoming shade of a tree. Sitting on the ground in a circle, they shared a simple yet fulfilling breakfast. The open-air setting and togetherness made the meal all the more special.

The group arrived at Gingee Fort, a majestic hill fortress nestled in Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu. The children, though a little sad to leave behind the fun on the bus filled with music and dance, were quickly mesmerized by the sheer scale and beauty of the historic fort. Wide eyes and curious minds wandered through the stone pathways, wondering about the stories that lived within those ancient walls.

From there, the bus journey continued to Sathanur Dam, and the energy never dropped. The journey itself became a memory the bus was alive with music, dancing, playful teasing, and shared laughter. Though a bit late in reaching, hunger was quickly forgotten as everyone sat down together to enjoy lunch. Sharing food like a family brought everyone even closer. After eating, they climbed a few steps to reach the top of the dam, where they were met with a breathtaking view of the water, greenery, and peaceful skies. The Crocodile Park was another surprise. Children and adults alike were amazed to see so many crocodiles some basking in the sun, some moving lazily in the water. For many children, it was their first time seeing these animals up close, and their reactions ranged from awe to wide-eyed curiosity. Monkeys roamed freely around the area, adding to the playful mood of the day. Some children even tried to mimic or play with them, turning the visit into an impromptu wildlife encounter.

As the day slowly drew to a close, the group made one last stop at the holy Thiruvannamalai temple, a place of deep spiritual and cultural significance. After a short tea break, everyone stepped into the temple with reverence. The calmness of the temple offered a peaceful contrast to the excitement of the day. Here, some chose to pray silently, while others took in the majestic architecture and spiritual atmosphere. It was a beautiful way to wind down a moment of gratitude and reflection after a day of adventure.

The journey back to Janani Home was as joyful as the rest of the day. Music filled the bus again. Children danced down the aisle, tired yet full of life. The staff, though exhausted, had smiles that said it all this was a day well spent. By night, the bus pulled back into Janani Home. Though the trip was over, the memories created, the laughter shared, and the bonds strengthened would live on in every heart. This tour wasn’t just a break from routine it was an experience of connection, discovery, and joy. For the children of Janani Home, it was a chance to explore the world beyond their walls, to be curious, to feel free. For the staff and families, it was a moment to see the children they care for so deeply thrive in happiness.

Through this simple yet powerful journey, Prime Trust once again reaffirmed its commitment not just to provide shelter and care, but to create opportunities that fill lives with light, learning, and love.
