Ayudha Pooja celebrations in Prime Educational and Social Trust
Ayudha Pooja, also known as Ayudha Puja, is a Hindu festival celebrated primarily in South India, especially in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. The festival typically falls on the ninth day (Navami) of the Navaratri festival, which usually occurs in September or October. The primary purpose of Ayudha Pooja is to pay homage and offer prayers to the tools, instruments, and vehicles that people use in their daily lives. It is an occasion to show gratitude to these objects that help people earn their livelihood and carry out various tasks efficiently. The festival holds cultural significance in South India, and it is an opportunity for people to come together, decorate their tools and instruments, and celebrate their work and craftsmanship. It is a way of fostering a sense of unity and pride in one's occupation or profession. Ayudha Pooja is also a day for religious observance. It is common for people to perform pujas (worship rituals) to consecrate their tools, vehicles, and other instruments. The tools are cleaned, decorated, and offered special prayers. In some households and workplaces, images or idols of deities are also worshipped. People believe that by performing Ayudha Pooja, they invoke divine blessings for the tools and instruments, which in turn can lead to greater success and prosperity in their work and daily life. In schools and educational institutions, Ayudha Pooja is also observed as an occasion to pay respect to books, musical instruments, and other tools related to education. Students often keep their books and study materials in front of deities and seek blessings for success in their studies. It's a time to express gratitude, seek divine blessings, and celebrate the skills and labor that contribute to one's livelihood and society as a whole.

It typically falls in the month of September or October, on the tenth day (Dashami) of the bright half of the Hindu lunar calendar month of Ashwin. In various regions, Vijayadashami is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts, and learning. Students and artists seek her blessings to excel in their respective fields. Vijayadashami is considered an auspicious day to begin new ventures, whether it's starting a business, learning a new skill, or commencing formal education. People seek the blessings of the divine and embark on new journeys with optimism and hope. Apart from its religious and mythological significance, Vijayadashami is celebrated with various cultural events, processions, and fairs. Traditional dances, music, and folk performances are an integral part of the festivities. Custom of Exchanging Gifts: It is customary to exchange gifts and sweets with loved ones during Vijayadashami. This symbolizes goodwill, love, and the sharing of joy with others. Prime Trust conducts Breast Cancer Awareness Camp
Prime Trust conducts Breast Cancer Awareness Camp
Breast cancer awareness camps play a crucial role in promoting early detection, education, and support for individuals affected by breast cancer. Breast cancer, when detected early, is often more treatable and has a higher survival rate. Awareness camps encourage women to perform regular self-examinations and undergo routine screenings, such as mammograms, which can detect cancer in its early stages. These camps provide valuable information about breast cancer, its risk factors, symptoms, and prevention. Education is essential to dispel myths and misconceptions, and to empower individuals with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their health. Breast cancer awareness camps empower individuals to take control of their health by promoting self-examinations and regular check-ups. This proactive approach can lead to earlier diagnosis and better outcomes. Awareness camps help reduce the stigma associated with breast cancer, which can encourage individuals to seek help and share their concerns without fear of judgment or discrimination. These camps often emphasize the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, a balanced diet, and reducing risk factors like smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. These lifestyle changes can help reduce the risk of developing breast cancer. By encouraging women to be vigilant about their breast health, awareness camps can lead to early intervention and potentially less aggressive treatment options when cancer is detected. Overall, breast cancer awareness camps are instrumental in reducing the impact of breast cancer by promoting early detection, education, support, and advocacy. They play a significant role in improving outcomes and the quality of life for individuals affected by breast cancer.
On 07.10.2023 Prime Trust in hands with Vel dental team conducted a breast cancer awareness camp in Janani Home, Colas Nagar. The Vel dental team provided a talk about the symptoms of breast cancer, early detection and the necessity to seek medical help early. The participants cleared their doubts. The women from the nearby locality, Rasu Udayar Thottam and the staff of Prime Trust took part in the camp.

Prime Trust conducts free dental and eye camp at Kudaloor village, Villupuram District
Conducting dental and eye camps in villages holds significant importance for several reasons. Many rural areas lack proper healthcare infrastructure and facilities. Dental and eye camps provide an opportunity for people in these areas to access essential healthcare services that they might not otherwise receive. These camps facilitate early detection of dental and eye problems. By identifying issues at an early stage, individuals can receive timely treatment, preventing more severe health complications. These camps can also serve as platforms for health education and awareness. Local healthcare professionals can educate villagers about the importance of oral and eye health, hygiene, and preventive measures. For many, dental and eye problems can be debilitating and significantly impact their quality of life. Camps like these offer treatment and intervention that can improve the overall well-being of villagers. Rural populations often face financial constraints that make it difficult to seek regular healthcare. Dental and eye camps provide cost-effective or even free services, making healthcare more accessible to those with limited resources. In summary, conducting dental and eye camps in villages is significant because it addresses critical healthcare needs, raises awareness, and improves the overall well-being of the rural population. It's a step towards achieving better healthcare equity and inclusivity, ensuring that healthcare services are accessible to all, regardless of their geographic location or economic status.
On 29.09.2023 Prime Trust in hands with the Vel dental team and JAAS optical and eye care team conducted a free dental and eye screening camp at the Kudaloor Village of Villupuram District. The camp took place from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Basic treatment for dental was done. Eye screening was done. The people were referred to local health care providers for further treatment. About 60 people including children were benefitted from the camp.

Prime Trust distributes stationary to school children, Kirumampakkam Village Puducherry
Distribution of stationary (school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks, and other educational materials) to school children is important for several reasons. Not all children have the same financial resources, and some families may struggle to afford basic school supplies. Distributing stationary helps ensure that all students, regardless of their economic background, have access to the tools they need for learning. Adequate school supplies can enhance the learning experience. When students have the necessary materials, they can complete assignments, take notes, and engage more actively in classroom activities. This, in turn, can improve their understanding of the subjects and academic performance. Students without school supplies may feel embarrassed or stigmatized, which can negatively affect their self-esteem and overall well-being. Teachers benefit from students having the necessary supplies. When students come to class prepared, it can make teaching more effective and efficient. Distributing stationary can also engage parents and the community in supporting education. It can be a way for parents, local businesses, and community organizations to contribute to the education of children, fostering a sense of shared responsibility. In summary, the distribution of stationary to school children is a simple yet effective way to promote educational equity, improve the learning environment, and enhance the overall well-being of students. It helps create a more inclusive and supportive educational system, which is vital for the development and success of future generations.
On 02.10.2023 stationary items were distributed to the school going children by our well wisher in the Kirumambakkam village of Puducherry.

Session on importance of education for the children in Janani Home
Education is of paramount importance for children for several reasons. Education equips children with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the world successfully. It provides a foundation in subjects like math, science, language, and social studies, which are essential for understanding and contributing to society. Education encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Education fosters personal growth and development. School environments provide opportunities for children to interact with their peers, which is crucial for developing social skills. Education empowers children by giving them the tools they need to make choices about their lives. It helps them become more self-reliant and less dependent on others. Education is often linked to better life outcomes, including higher earning potential, improved health, and a higher quality of life. It can break the cycle of poverty and open doors to a wider range of opportunities. Education plays a key role in shaping responsible citizens. It instills values such as respect for others, tolerance, and civic engagement. In summary, education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool that can transform the lives of children.
